Bitumen 160/220

Bitumen 160/220 is a type of refinery bitumen obtained from the vacuum aeration of the distillation tower. Its penetration degree ranges between 120 and 220. This grade of bitumen is produced through a blowing process in a refinery, similar to other penetration grades. Due to its medium air blowing and penetration, it is suitable for mild areas and highly recommended for use in temperate climates. Bitumen 160/220 is mainly used for road pavement. This type of bitumen is commonly used in road construction, insulation, building construction, and liquid bitumen production. It is more appropriate for use in temperate climate regions. Sebco is one of the companies that produce high-quality bitumen 160/220.

Key features of Bitumen 160/220:

1. Softening point: The softening point ranges between 49 and 56 degrees Celsius. This means the bitumen hardens below 49°C and softens above 56°C.
2. Boiling point: The boiling point of 160/220 bitumen ranges between 220 and 260 degrees Celsius.
3. Adhesion: This type of bitumen exhibits good adhesion, meaning it can adhere well to other surfaces.
4. Permeability: The permeability of this bitumen is relatively low, indicating resistance to water penetration.
5. Dynamic softening temperature: The dynamic softening temperature falls between 35 and 45 degrees Celsius.
6. Dynamic friction coefficient: The dynamic friction coefficient ranges between 0.4 and 0.6.

Bitumen 160/220 is offered in various packaging options, including steel drums, jumbo bags, Bitutainers, and bulk.
